Everything about Lars is awkward. There’s nothing especially good about him. so we’re left with a storyline that is not dramatic, just weird.
The whole neighborhood doing whatever they could (including the doctors and hospital) to support Lars’ psychosis was a bit far-fetched. In the end, though, I did find myself surprisingly attached to Bianca. The effective, emotional score probably had something to do with it.
I actually felt that Gus was the far more interesting character (and actor). Would have liked to see his story instead.
