Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

Lars and the Real Girl (2007)

Directed by Craig Gillespie

Starring Ryan Gosling, Emily Mortimer, Paul Schneider, R.D. Reid

Author

Everything about Lars is awkward. There’s nothing especially good about him. so we’re left with a storyline that is not dramatic, just weird.

The whole neighborhood doing whatever they could (including the doctors and hospital) to support Lars’ psychosis was a bit far-fetched. In the end, though, I did find myself surprisingly attached to Bianca. The effective, emotional score probably had something to do with it.

I actually felt that Gus was the far more interesting character (and actor). Would have liked to see his story instead.
