Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

Brave (2012)

Directed by Mark Andrews, Brenda Chapman

Starring Kelly Macdonald, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson, Julie Walters

It’s a bit touching, but it could be a bit more. The story and characters are a bit one-dimensional. The whole thing’s a little more Disney than Pixar’s other movies.

For a change, we get to see an understanding and compassionate father, and a cold and ruthless mother. Some good bear comedy.

Beautiful animation. At this point, I think Pixar is just showing off, with the splashing water her flowing hair.

Not sure it’s titled correctly. The girl is more rebellious than she is brave. And there’s also the awkwardness of being similarly named to the Scottish epic Braveheart.
