Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

Cold Mountain (2003)

Directed by Anthony Minghella

Starring Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, Renée Zellweger, Eileen Atkins

Law and Kidman are so weird around each other that the time that they are together lacks any real drama. It makes his journey back to her (and all the screen time it takes) worthless. Then, when he finally does get back to her to share their first normal moments together, he’s shot dead. That’s a bit of a downer.

Extremely long, which is not surprising for Minghella.

Zellweger is great. Sad that most of these quintessential American roles go to foreign (mostly English) actors. Can he not find the talent around here?
