A bit more elaborate and polished than his earlier comedies and financed himself, I get the feeling that this is when Murphy really started to take his career into his own hands. This is also when his movies became less spontaneous comedy and more Eddie Murphy Show.
Loved the Trading Places tie-in. I had forgotten how much Arsenio Hall annoys me.
