Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

Die Hard: With A Vengeance (1995)

Directed by John McTiernan

Starring Bruce Willis, Jeremy Irons, Samuel L. Jackson, Graham Greene

Author

Both the action and characters in this movie somehow seemed kind of hollow, or empty. The story was okay, but the title has to go. What a dumb title.

Samuel L. Jackson really established himself by playing the same kind of wise-cracking person he has played in some of his other recent films. I would say that he, as he did in Pulp Fiction with the same character, made the movie.

Nothing kills realistic action better than unrealistic human reaction. Why the wise-cracks from Carver amidst a crisis?

I didn’t understand why they threw in Krieg’s stutter or Carver’s racism. If they’re going make the effort to put those into the movie, they should at least have a point. They just didn’t fit into the plot.
