This is One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest for girls, focusing more on emotional problems than just pure craziness.

Nice cast. Ryder is impossibly cute, even when she’s crazy. She’s a pretty good actress, too. It’s a shame her career would go downhill shortly after this movie, due to what seem to be a variety of off-screen problems. Jolie’s kind of gross. It’s amazing that it only took a little plastic surgery and makeup to make her Hollywood’s “it” girl. But to her credit, this is one of the only films Jolie ever made where she actually acts, and she does a pretty good job. Whoopi is always the moral compass for any movie or TV show she’s in.

Some of the dialogue is pretty intense. Redgrave’s dialogue as Dr. Wick was wonderfully insightful. She feels like a real therapist. Ryder’s last line of dialogue in the movie is delivered a little too meekly, though. Sucks to end on that.
