Everyone loves it, and I think I know why. This has the best character development and realistic grounding of any superhero movie. But there’s a problem: there’s no drama.
The effects are fantastic, and Downey adds a bit of personality, but what does Iron Man risk? What does he have to lose? What is the greater good? He’s a rich guy with a personal vendetta and a dickhead business associate. Who cares?
