As a musical, it’s goofy. As a romance, it’s cheesy. As an action-adventure, it’s silly. And as a comedy, it’s just not funny. Witless, dumb gags, horrible timing. They certainly went downhill after “Who’s on First”. Costello seems like a cross between Nathan Lane and John Belushi. Abbott looked like Errol Flynn. James Alexander was very stale and very gay.
A political statement against tall people? The color was neat.
