L.A. Story (1991)

Directed by Mick Jackson

Starring Steve Martin, Victoria Tennant, Richard E. Grant, Sarah Jessica Parker

A lovely story about a REAL person in a FAKE world. Interesting that London comes to signify that which is real. A philosophical parody, not too common. A parody like this one just had to be made. L.A. is just too quirky. I would have made this movie sooner or later if no one else had done it.

Good cast. Martin is pretty good, seems like he can really do drama. Nice cameos (especially Chevy). I guess the fact that this movie was written by Steve Martin says something about him. I wanna meet a young chick like Sarah Jessica Parker (without the enemas).

Fantastic sign scenes, with a hint of magic to them that gives the movie flavor. It’s Field of Dreams kind of magic, the story is believable and real as it is, but little magical moments help push the story forward. Great dialogue. A lot of great lines and quotes. Great soundtrack.
