An American Werewolf in London (1981)

Something you’d see on cable at 3am. The acting isn’t so great and the writing is pretty stale (seems like a student film), but some pretty good special effects for its time. The car accidents were nastier than the wolf.

Clash of the Titans (1981)

In the same category as The Beastmaster. Very enjoyable. Harryhausen’s stop-motion was eerily cool. With today’s special effects and a name actor, they could make this movie a great one. Poseidon’s expression was priceless.

Some of These Stories Are True (1981)

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)

A really well-made film. It really had a nice feeling to it. Not flawless, but pretty close. It’s actually one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. A lot of Star Wars references, including the musical score (by the same guy who did Star Wars), Eliot playing with Star…

Pink Floyd The Wall (1982)

Makes you think. What is great art? Intelligently made, debunking my theory that the film was just an ad for the band. Great mood, a lot of cool shots. A definite Tim Burton feel. A lot more to it than Rattle and Hum. Given that the band was filled with…
