Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

Directed by Don Coscarelli

Starring Marc Singer, Tanya Roberts, Rip Torn, John Amos

An interesting story and some cool effects for its time. I’ve seen it almost a million times, and although it was more enjoyable seeing it as a kid, it still is entertaining. It’s too bad more higher-budget movies like this one aren’t made.

Interesting “you are my father” concept borrowed from Star Wars and “animal saves the day” concept borrowed from The Man Who Laughs. It makes me wonder: in this era of Post-Modernism, maybe these rookie filmmakers haven’t even seen the original films that us educated folk are accusing them of copying.

Singer is cast well, and he does a good job. He took the role seriously, while many stars wouldn’t have.
