Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

Twelve Monkeys (1995)

Directed by Terry Gilliam

Starring Bruce Willis, Madeleine Stowe, Brad Pitt, Joseph Melito

Author

This film had the same kind of “please believe me that I am a time traveler from the future” plot that I had always thought about, and it was done very convincingly. It had more neat twists than a piece of chala. Sometimes it got a little weird, but in a cool way that makes sense. One of the best time travel movies. I think it’s cool that they don’t show him actually travelling through time and instead show him jumping around as it appears to the protagonist. The only problem was that there were a few too many “monkey references,” and it got corny after while.

Bruce Willis is the Terminator 2 equivalent of Linda Hamilton in this tale of future visitors. Brad Pitt provided a great performance and some comic relief. One of Pitt’s best performances, along with True Romance. In the film, he really was a genius, as are a lot of “crazy” people. It makes you look at homeless people a bit differently.
