Well-made. The effects and music are pretty good and well-used. Good casting and acting. The supporting cast is good and well-managed. The right people live, and the right people die. The German guy with the Americans was cool.

Suspenseful and unpredictable. Great opening sequence. The forceful invasion of the U-boat was almost as thrilling as the Normandy invasion in Saving Private Ryan. But how did they know that the first U-boat (the one that fired on the American sub as they took over the U-boat with the coding device on it) didn’t radio home? My biggest problem is with the end. Didn’t even recognize it as the climax. I had no idea the film was going to end there because I thought that they still had a while to go before they’d reach the French coast.

Same dance ball before the battle as in another German movie I can’t remember.

Paxton is getting older but not better. Still stale. Hersh was pretty cool. Poor Trigger.
