Thoughts on every movie I've ever seen.

You’re Telling Me (1934)

Directed by Erle C. Kenton

Starring W.C. Fields, Joan Marsh, Buster Crabbe, Adrienne Ames

Author

One of the worst attempts at comedy I have ever seen. Fields is a comedian? He was one of the most unfunny, boring characters I have ever seen. This old man can’t do physical comedy, his timing is awful, and he beats his jokes into the ground. His only saving grace is that his voice is kind of neat. Too bad he doesn’t do much with it. Looks a lot like Archie Bunker, doesn’t he? Best line in the movie: “Gosh all hemlock.”

Dumb-ass story. Not only was it boring as hell, but the end was cheesy as fuck.

The music was familiar. Sounded like the “Alfred Hitchcock Presents…” theme, I think.
